Selva Bananito

Selva Bananito Lodge is nestled in the Talamanca Mountains on the lush Caribbean slope and its private nature reserve is an important transition area to the International Park La Amistad. The comfortable lodge is world-wide recognized as a pioneer model for ecotourism, had been built with recycled waste wood, and attaches special attention to the use of renewable energy, an optimized waste management and a minimal carbon footprint. The 19 bungalows (5 Standard, 4 Superior, 2 Honeymoon, 8 Kinkajou) are all built following Caribbean style using stilts as their bases. They stand on a ridge flanked by two streams and are separated with exotic heliconia plant hedges to create a secluded, intimate and refined atmosphere. Each bungalow features mosquito netting, solar-heated warm water and a tastefully appointed, rather ample restroom and shower area. Activities available at the lodge include gyrocopter flights, bird watching, tree planting, hiking, horseback riding, rappelling, ziplining, tree climbing.
