Getting to know all the layers of a tropical cloud forest while hiking across a large suspension bridge system; hiking at the foot of the impressive Arenal Volcano and conquering its offshore lake, experiencing the Costa Rican river landscapes by canoe or getting to know the unique flora and fauna on the back of a horse… All of these highlights are fascinating possibilities to experience the diversity of our unique, tropical country. But we are also going to dive into the precious underwater world by the Costa Rica's Pacific Coast and let the soul dangle at sunset with a tasteful sundowner. Pura Vida !!!

Day 1: Upon arrival at the international airport of San José, our German speaking tour guide from Amadeus will be waiting to welcome you. After a short transfer to the hotel and a brief check-in we move into the rooms. During a welcome cocktail all participants will have the oportunity to  get to know all other participants.

Overnight: Studio Hotel 


2nd day: After breakfast we start our way to Monteverde. Although we will be able to take a glimps look onto the Pacific Ocean on our way towards Monteverde, we still need to wait a few more days in order to enjoy its warm, pleasant waterrs. In the afternoon explore one of the most beautiful natural botanical gardens in the world: a magic tropical cloud forest. Our hike will take about 2 1/2 hours.

Overnight: Arco Iris Lodge

Day 3: More than 50% of the animals and plants colonize the upper layers of a cloudforest. Today, we want to focus on this habitat. Do not miss to climb tropical trees, to marvel at the cloud forest from all its beauty thanks to an extense suspension bridge system or simply explore the world from above: treetops with over 10 steel ropes in conjunction with belt and a roller. Of course there will still be some time left to see and explore the nearbz village of Santa Elena.  there is also opportunity for a spree through the small nearby village of Santa Elena. (today's excursions are all optional)

Day 4: Leaving the cloud forest region we continue our way to one of the most famous and impressive volcanoes in Central America. The Arenal Volcano! An idyllic road winding along the northern sea shore of the artificial Lake of Arenal leads us directly to the little town of La Fortuna.  This volcano with its perfct cone is considered the center of the National park carrying the same name. This afternon, you will be lead to this park for an exciting hike.

Day 5: In the morning we have the opportunity to discover the Arenal Volcano from a completely new perspective. On stand-up paddle boards we are able to explore the Arenal Lake way better from the foot of the volcano and certainly have the opportunity to refresh ourselves again and again. But if you prefer flowing or gliding through waters, you could also chose an optional white water rafting tour. In the afternoon or evening there is nothing in the way of relaxation in one of the hot springs heated by nature, the volcano. (today's activities are all optional)

Overnight: Hotel Los Lagos

Day 6: Today we are heading north. The Maquenque Reserve and the Maquenque Eco Lodge can be reached by canoe. The Rio San Carlos leads us to the final point. On this trip we may be cheered on by howler monkeys and accompanied by macaws.

7th day: Today you may choose from the following options: go for an exciting horseback ride experience or decide to travel on a boat across the smoth San Carlos River up to its mouth the Rio San Juan, the natural border to Nicaragua. during this tour observe the rich wildlife as well as crocodiles, iguanas, snakebirds and so much more. (today's activities are all optional)

Overnight: Maquenque Eco Lodge

Day 8: When the lowland rainforest awakens in the morning, the rays of the sun make their way through the frequent morning mist, often creating the most breathtaking impressions and memorable pictures. Around noon we leave this wonderful region and our way leads us through the villages Boca Tapada, Pital to Katira to the volcano Tenorio. Our today's accommodation located on the slopes of the volcano awaits us.

Overnight: Catarata Rio Celeste Lodge.

Day 9: After a hearty breakfast and a short bus ride, we may welcome the Tenorio Volcano National Park with its fantastic Rio Celeste. Celeste means translated light blue and the river with a precious waterfall of this color that awaits us in the park. After an approximately 3 hour hike and a short lunch break, we continue the journey towards the Pacific. Our arrival is foreseen in the late afternoon.

Overnight: Playa del Coco

Day 10: Surely as fascinating as the flora and fauna on firm land, you will be able to explore it also under water. For those  who do not have an internationally recognized diving license, today we do have a dive-trial-day on the program. After a theoretical introduction and half a day of classes, we dive into the underwater world of the Pacific still the same afternoon or the following morning. "Discover Scuba Diving" is the name of the program of our internationally renowned diving school in Playa del Coco. For those who pocess already a diver's license you may go straight forward and dives. Also snorkeling will be an optional activitiy you may probably choose.

Day 11: Take advantage of your time to let the soul stumble;  enjoy the beach or maybe we prefer dive, snorkel or be party of a boat trip (optional activities).

Day 12: After a tasteful breakfast and a restful morning, drive back to the heart of the country, tha capital of San José. Our arrival is scheduled in the later afternoon.

Overnight: Studio Hotel

Day 13: Depending on your flight time, pick- up will be scheduled accordingly and our driver takes you back to the Juan Santamaría International Airport.
