Tortuguero
Information

You can only reach Tortuguero by boat or plane. The parks wildly romantic canal landscape is home to Waterfowl, Howler Monkeys, Toucans, Parrots, Sloth’s and many more species. The sandy beach of the sometimes-rough Caribbean Sea offers one of the few remaining nesting sites for several species of Sea Turtles. An early morning Tour to the nearby Cerro Tortuguero promises new encounters: bright red Poison Dart Frogs between the giant trees of the primeval forest or an encounter with Spider Monkeys and Squirrel Monkeys. A visit to the small village of Tortuguero gives an insight into the Afro-Costa Rican culture of the Caribbean coast
